about

“Beat Con Flow” is from the upcoming album Mista Savona Presents Havana Meets Kingston Part 2, which will be released in 2021 by Cumbancha. The song features Cimafunk, one of the hottest young talents to emerge from Cuba in recent years.

Savona first saw Cimafunk performing with the band Interactivo in 2015, years before he became a household name in Cuba. The music for “Beat Con Flow”, which Savona describes as “an old-school, funky, hip-hop and reggae jam,” was recorded at Egrem Studios by a top-notch band that included legendary Jamaican drummer Sly Dunbar, the late Jamaican guitarist Winston “Bopee” Bowen (known for his work with Dennis Brown), as well as Cuban virtuoso bassist Gaston Joya and trumpeter Julito Padrón. Savona plays piano and Hammond organ and DJ Wasabi is on the turntables.

Cimafunk later recorded his vocals at a small rundown Havana recording studio, bragging in Cuban slang about his talents as a singer and the infectious rhythm and vibe of the song. “I live at my own cool and easy tempo / And if is there are any problems / I solve them little by little / So go ahead, lose yourself to the beat / If being quiet is getting you down / Don’t worry, dance and sing / And you will see how it lifts your soul.” The song’s uplifting message and positive vibe is the perfect antidote for these challenging times.

LYRICS (ENGLISH TRANSLATION)

Pa-pa-pa-pa pa-pa-raun
Leaving a seed everywhere
I brought it to ya just for free
Mmmmmmmm

Beat, beat, beat flow
Beat, beat, beat flow

Don’t do it x2
So can you get it

This is super trending right now
Beat and flow everywhere
I brought it to ya just for free
Get closer and stop asking questions If people don’t wanna party
Nor anything like it
Get fresh and ready
Because we are getting to it

X2

How can I explain this to you
I live at my own tempo which is cool and easy
And if there are any complications
I solve them little by little
So go ahead, lose yourself to the beat
If being quiet is getting you down
Don’t worry, dance and sing
And you will see how it lifts your soul

Hey Black man from Congo,
Play the drums
Put some clave and heart into it
You know this big rumba too well
And everything else is just not real
Fire it up, get the party started

Coro
I don’t waste my time any more
I don’t pay attention to bad things
My days have too much swing
Cuz’ I’m always trying to find a way to go on and do my thing
I don’t want any trouble
Always in touch with my tribe
Just doing what I can
Living the way I want

Little by little play it again
Little by little play it again (hey)
Little by little play it again
Little by little play that funk again

Little by little play it again (my flow)
Little by little play it again (my flow)

Little by little play it again (my flow)
Little by little play it again

Hey Black man from Congo,
Play the drums
Put some clave and heart into it
You know this big rumba too well
And everything else is just not real
Fire it up, get the party started

Coro
Everyone loves good stuff
Everybody likessweet things
Aaaah....

My flow my flow my flow

++++

LYRICS (SPANISH)

Pa-pa-pa-pa pa-pa-raun
Pica flor por to’ los la’os
Te lo traje regala’o
Mmmmmmmm

Beat, beat, beat flow
Beat, beat, beat flow

Don’t do it (no lo hagas) x2
Pa que tu entiendas

Esto esta super pegao
Beat con flow por to los lados
Te lo traje regalao
Pégate y no me preguntes mas
Si el people no quiere fiesta
Ni timba que se presta
Repartete, ponte fresca

No te preocupes baila y canta
Que tu veras como el espíritu levanta

Negro congo toca tambor
Ponle clave y corazón
Que tu le sabes a este rumbón
Lo otro es muela
Dale candela que se formo

Coro
Ya no pierdo tiempo no
A lo malo no hago caso
Todos los días son con flow
Siempre estoy buscando la manera
De seguir y de formar lo mío
No quiero problemas yo no estoy pa lios
Siempre conectado con mi tribu Haciendo lo que pueda
Viviendo a mi manera yo....

Poquito a poquito ponchalo
Poquito a poquito ponchalo (oye)
Poquito a poquito ponchalo
Poquito a poquito poncha el mismo flow
Poquito a poquito ponchalo (con flow)
Poquito a poquito ponchalo (con flow)
Poquito a poquito ponchalo (con flow)
Poquito a poquito ponchalo

Negro congo toca tambor
Ponle clave y corazón
Que tu le sabes a este rumbón
Lo otro es muela
Dale candela que se formo

Coro
A to el mundo le gusta lo lindo
A to el mundo le gusta lo rico
Aaaah....

Con flow, con flow, con flow
